Any apprehension that COVID-19 would also disrupt the legacy of ASCO innovation, was ameliorated by a procession of breakthrough findings with robust clinical implications. Some trade-offs were inevitable, however, as the convenience of a virtual format did come at the expense of interpersonal connections and networking that have historically comprised an important part of the conference culture.
